EU initiates second anti-dumping sunset review investigation on Chinese aluminum alloy wheels
On January 20, 2022, the European Commission issued an announcement stating that in response to the application submitted by the Association of European Wheel Manufacturers on October 21, 2021, the aluminum alloy wheels (Aluminium Road Wheels) initiated the second anti-dumping sunset review investigation. The EU CN (Combined Nomenclature) codes of the products involved are ex 8708 70 10 and ex 8708 70 50, and the EU TARIC codes are 8708 70 10 15, 8708 70 10 50, 8708 70 50 15, and 8708 70 50 50. The dumping investigation period, in this case, is from October 1, 2020, to September 30, 2021, and the damage analysis period is from January 1, 2018, to the end of the dumping investigation period.
Stakeholders should submit comments on the case within 37 days of the announcement, and submit a hearing application within 15 days. Unless otherwise postponed (3 months), the final judgment is expected to be made within 12 months.
On August 13, 2009, the EU initiated an anti-dumping investigation on aluminum alloy wheels originating in China. On January 24, 2017, the EU made the first anti-dumping sunset review final ruling on Chinese aluminum alloy wheels and decided to continue to maintain the 22.3% anti-dumping duty on the products involved.
