Australia Postpones the Release of the Basic Facts Report and Final Judgment of Sunset Review of AD and Countermeasures against China Galvanized Sheets
On December 12, 2022, the Australian Anti-dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2022/107, saying that the release of the anti-dumping sunset review investigation on imports of galvanized sheets (Zinc Coated (Galvanised) Steel) from mainland China, Taiwan, and South Korean and the review of anti-dumping on China Basic fact report and final ruling recommendations of Continental Galvanized Sheet Countervailing Sunset Review Investigation. It is expected that the Australian Commission will issue a basic fact report no later than March 20, 2023, and submit a final recommendation to the Australian Minister of Industry and Technology no later than May 4, 2023.
On September 5, 2012, Australia conducted an anti-dumping investigation on imports of iron or non-alloy galvanized sheets with a width of less than or equal to 600 mm or a width greater than 600 mm from mainland China, South Korea, and Taiwan. On November 26, 2012, Australia launched a countervailing investigation on iron or non-alloy galvanized sheets imported from mainland China with a width of less than or equal to 600 mm or a width greater than 600 mm. On August 5, 2013, Australia made an affirmative final ruling on the above anti-dumping and countervailing cases.
On May 15, 2015, Australia conducted an anti-circumvention investigation on galvanized sheets originating in South Korea and Taiwan; on June 1, 2015, Australia conducted an anti-circumvention investigation on galvanized sheets originating in mainland China. On March 18, 2016, the Australian Anti-dumping Commission made an affirmative final ruling on the above-mentioned anti-circumvention case, expanding the anti-dumping and countervailing measures of the products involved in the above-mentioned countries and regions to alloy galvanized products with a width less than or equal to 600 mm or a width greater than 600 mm plate.
On November 10, 2017, the Australian Anti-dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2017/159, stating that in response to the application submitted by the Australian company BlueScope Steel Limited on October 6, 2017, the first anti-dumping was initiated on galvanized sheets imported from mainland China and anti-subsidy sunset review investigations, and initiated the first anti-dumping sunset review investigations on galvanized sheets imported from South Korea and Taiwan.
On August 22, 2022, the Australian Anti-dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2022/086, launching the second anti-dumping sunset review investigation on galvanized sheets imported from mainland China, Taiwan, and South Korea, and galvanized sheets imported from mainland China Initiated the second countervailing sunset review investigation. The Australian customs codes of the products involved are 7210.49.00.55, 7210.49.00.56, 7210.49.00.57, 7210.49.00.58, 7212.30.00.61, 7225.92.00.38 and 7226.99.00.71.
