The packaging of exported metal products needs to meet the requirements of international transportation to ensure that the products remain intact during long-distance transportation, loading and unloading, and storage. The following is a detailed introduction to common export packaging methods and special export packaging methods:
Pallet Packaging
It is suitable for various metal products with regular shapes and exported in batches, such as aluminum plates, stainless steel coils, etc.
Film packaging
Reduce costs, simple packaging
Iron frame packaging
Suitable for heavy or large metal products, such as large stainless steel pipes, steel plates, etc.
Wooden box packaging
Suitable for more delicate or easily damaged metal products, such as stainless steel pipes, stainless steel wires, etc.
Oscillating wound coil packaging
Because the oscillating coil increases the linear length, fewer changeovers are required, which reduces downtime and material handling, improves efficiency and reduces labor costs. Head and tail scrap is also reduced, saving overall material costs.
Pallet Packaging
Features: Suitable for various metal products with regular shapes and exported in batches, such as aluminum plates, stainless steel coils, etc.
Material: Wooden pallets (fumigation or fumigation-free)
Method: Pile metal products neatly on the pallet.
Fix with steel straps and cover with waterproof film.
Advantages: Improve loading and unloading efficiency, convenient for forklift and container transportation.
Provide basic protection to avoid direct contact with the ground.
Film Packaging
Features: Used to prevent metal from being impacted or scratched during transportation.
Method:
- Use protective materials such as pearl cotton, foam pads, rubber pads, etc.
- Laminating the metal surface (such as PE protective film).
Function: Protect the surface finish of the metal and prevent mechanical damage.
Iron Frame Packaging
Features: Suitable for heavy or large metal products, such as large stainless steel pipes, steel plates, etc.
Materials: Metal brackets, protective film.
Methods:
- Design a special iron frame according to the shape of the product to fix the product.
- The outer layer is covered with moisture-proof cloth or plastic film.
Advantages:
- Ensure stability during transportation and prevent deformation or sliding.
- Especially suitable for overweight or irregular products in sea transportation.
Wooden Box Packaging
Features: Suitable for more delicate or easily damaged metal products, such as stainless steel pipes, stainless steel wires, etc.
Material: Fumigation wooden box or fumigation-free wooden box (in accordance with ISPM 15 international standard).
Method:
- The product is placed in a wooden box, and the box is filled with foam, pearl cotton and other cushioning materials.
- The wooden box structure is reinforced with nails and steel belts.
Advantages:
- Provide a solid shell protection to prevent external impact.
- Comply with international standards for sea, air and land transportation.
Oscillating Wound Coil Packaging
To make an oscillating or cross-wound coil, first several flat coils are welded together.
After the strip metal has been edge-finished, the cut coils are wrapped around the strapping tape so that each turn is wrapped side by side with the previous turn. This is like how a garden hose or sewing thread is wrapped cross-wise around a spool.
