Chinese steel export unit price has exceeded imports for 4 consecutive months

According to the information released by the General Administration of Customs, in August, September, October, and November 2021, the unit price of Chinese steel exports has exceeded that of imports for four consecutive months.

Among them, in August 2021, my country’s export volume of steel was 5.053 million tons, and the export value was US$7.2956 billion; the volume of imported steel was 1.063 million tons, and the import value was US$1.5315 billion. After a simple conversion, in August, the chinese steel export price rose to 1443.8 US dollars/ton, while the unit price of imported steel was about 1440.7 US dollars.

In September, my country exported 4.92 million tons of steel with a value of 7.296.8 billion U.S. dollars; imported 1.256 million tons of steel and paid 1.727.7 billion U.S. dollars-the unit prices of exports and imports were 1483.1 U.S. dollars and 1,375.56 U.S. dollars, respectively.

In October, my country exported 4.497 million tons of steel with a value of 6.873 billion U.S. dollars, and the average export unit price per ton of steel rose to 1528.35 U.S. dollars; the amount of imported steel was 1.127 million tons with a value of 1.643.4 billion U.S. dollars, and the unit price was 14.5821. Dollar.

In November, my country exported 4.361 million tons of steel, the export value was 7.542 billion U.S. dollars, and the price per ton was as high as 1729.5 U.S. dollars; the amount of imported steel was 1.424 million tons, and the total import amount paid was 1.995 billion U.S. dollars, and the unit price was 1402.04 U.S. dollars. .
