EAEU extends AD duty on Ukrainian hot rolled angle steel
On May 25, 2022, the Internal Market Protection Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission issued Announcement No. 2022/324/AD22R1. According to Resolution No. 85 of May 23, 2022, the Eurasian Economic Commission decided to introduce hot-rolled angle steel originating from Ukraine.
The validity period of anti-dumping duties will be extended to March 8, 2023 (inclusive), and the tax rate will remain unchanged at 37.89%. The measures will take effect 30 calendar days after the announcement, but no earlier than July 3, 2022.
On August 5, 2016, the Eurasian Economic Commission launched an anti-dumping investigation on hot rolled angle steel originating in Ukraine. On October 4, 2017, according to Resolution No. 133 of the Eurasian Economic Commission on October 3, 2017, the Eurasian Economic Union officially imposed a 37.89% anti-dumping duty on the products involved in Ukraine. On March 9, 2022, the Eurasian Economic Commission launched the first sunset review investigation into the case.
The products involved are low-alloy and alloy hot-rolled equilateral angle steel with a flange (including carbon) width of 20 mm to 200 mm, involving tariff headings 7216 21 000 0, 7216 40 100 0, 7216 50 100 0, 7216 50 990 0 and 7228 Products under 70 1000, excluding corrosion-resistant hot-rolled angles.
