• Definition: ASME SA213 is a standard adopted by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) as part of its Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC), specifically for the design and manufacture of high-pressure boilers and pressure vessels.

• Purpose: Specially serves the construction of pressure vessels and boilers, and is widely used in the manufacture and repair of equipment such as boilers, superheaters, and heat exchangers.

• Pipe type: It also covers ferritic steel and austenitic steel, which is consistent with the material grade of ASTM A213.

• Testing and inspection: The pipe is also required to pass strict mechanical property tests and non-destructive testing to ensure the safety and reliability of the material.

 ASTM A213 and ASME SA213 Difference:

• Different standard organizations: ASTM A213 is issued by the ASTM organization, while ASME SA213 is a standard adopted by the ASME organization, mainly used for the design and manufacture of boilers and pressure vessels.

• Scope of application: Although the technical requirements of the two are almost the same, ASTM A213 is more used for general industrial applications, while ASME SA213 focuses more on the manufacture of pressure vessels and boilers by the provisions of ASME BPVC.

 ASTM A213 and ASME SA213 Similarities:

• The material types and application scenarios are very similar, and both are suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure environments.
